Psychic Types And Psychic Ability

Performing as a Psychic

Psychics have been depicted in popular media time and time again. There is almost a whole art form dedicated to the portrayal of the psychic, most likely because of our continued obsession with them. We are all curious about our own futures, and the idea that there are folk out there that will tell you precisely where your life is going is interesting to assert the least. If you ever have the desire to portray a psychic yourself, you should ensure you put in 110% into it and go hell for leather. Whether it is for Halloween, a movie, a play, or just for fun, there's some necessary garb and a few mannerisms that you must use to be entertaining. Here is a list of must haves for your portrayal of the hottest mystical profession, the psychic.

1. Candles - Having a table and a crystal ball as part of your psychic setup is a given. What you should remember to include are candles. This will help to set the scene in your area and will also give the face of the psychic a glow. Ensure that you don't have too many candles around, because you do not want it to be too bright, and also don't use any candles with overpowering scents. Unscented would be best, but anything with a subtle, mellow scent will do.

2. Clothing - The garments you wear will be a very significant part of the psychic illusion. You want the people around you to actually get into the instant, and the right garb will help that to occur. Ensure you are wearing dark colours, purple or scarlet being great selections. If you're a male, a long beard with pointed mustache ends will look good. Also a turban with a jewel within could also add to the effect. If you're a lady, you need to have a certain mysticism about you. Wear a cloak or a cape so that you can pull it in front of your face, making any onlookers in the area worried and frightened. A scary psychic is always the most believable.

3. Velvet - Darker colored velvets should be in your setup. The tablecloth, curtains, and anything else in the area would look much more convincing if they were velvet. That also makes anybody sitting for a reading more comfortable by giving them something to touch, since velvet is always fun to feel.

4. Accent - A psychic portrayed in media will always have some sort of accent. It feels more authentic when the person telling your future has come from a far away land, being trained in isolation so that someday they may tell peoples's futures. This truly adds to the whole psychic experience.

These are some basics that your performance will actually benefit from. Be sure to use them when you show your psychic capabilities off to the world, but most importantly, have fun!
